Beautiful hand-made violin of high quality. The violin was probably made in France around 1900. The soft red-brown varnish on a gold base shows beautiful patina and accentuates the structure of the tonewood with its different color shades; deeply flamed maple for the back and finely grained spruce for the top. The wide purfling, fine scroll and elegant arch show the craftsmanship of the maker. It is striking that the scroll is necked. The violin has a clear, open and resonant sound with a sweet tone in the high registers.
