Old German violin region Klingenthal
Beautiful and excellent-sounding violin from the Klingenthal region. The violin was likely made around 1940 and sold under the trade name of the music shop "Hess Musik" (see photo of the label). The wide purfling, stylish F-holes, and tasteful gold-brown varnish demonstrate the maker’s excellent craftsmanship. The wood used—fine-grained spruce for the top and beautiful, mildly flamed maple for the back—is of good quality. A small, glued crack under the left F-hole is included in the price. We have fitted the violin with new tuning pegs, soundpots and bridge. The sound is exceptionally good for violins in this price range; warm, full of resonance, and character.
Body length: 35.7 cm | String length: 33.0 cm
Sound characteristics: warm, full, resonant
Rental price: €18 per month
