3/4 Mittenwald violin, J.A. Baader 1889
This attractive 3/4 violin was made in Mittenwald in the renowned workshop of J.A. Baader. The original label shows the year 1889. This rare and very good quality violin is a fine example of the typical Mittenwald style; the beautiful deep red-brown varnish, the sharp purfling, very finely cut scroll and the mild flame in the Mittenwald maple. The light traces of use show that this instrument, in good condition, has already been played by many young talented violinists. The violin offers many musical possibilities, thanks to its strong, warm, open, clear and somewhat dark resonant sound, characteristic of the violins from Mittenwald.
