This violin by Mr. Mroz was made in 2008. The top is made of fine spruce wood with a so-called 'hazel' pattern that looks very nice with the soft, gold / brown oil lacquer. The back is two-part and balanced, deeply flamed. The tone of the violin is powerful, open and clear ( sound clip below). This violin comes with a certificate of the maker.

Violinmaker Krzysztof Mroz works in his own studio and has been a member of the Association of Polish Violin Makers since 1980. He builds violins after the example of Stradivarius, Guarneri del Gesu and Jean-Baptiste Guadagnini. His instruments show great craftsmanship and are known for their great tonal quality. Mroz won many medals and awards, including the 1996 first prize and gold medal in the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Makers Contest.
