Kurt Brandt ca. 1950
A beautiful violin by Saxon violin maker Kurt Brandt from Erlbach. This violin was made in the 1950s based on the Stradivarius model. Kurt Brandt was a member of the Musikinstrumenten-Genossenschaft Markneukirchen (MIGMA), one of the few organizations in the GDR that allowed independent violin and bow makers to continue working outside of full nationalization. The violin bears the original cooperative label and is signed by Brandt on the inside, both on the back and top. The violin demonstrates precise and professional craftsmanship; an elegant scroll, sharp purfling, and a beautifully flamed one-piece back with a tasteful red-brown varnish. The sound is clear and powerful, with an easy response – a well-balanced instrument, suitable for both advanced students and dedicated musicians.
Body length: 35.5 cm | String length: 32.7 cm
Sound characteristics: soprano, deep, intense
Rental price: €30 per month
