A distinctive, presumably French violin made in the early 1900s, it is characterized by a distinct sense of individuality and fine craftsmanship. The body silhouette is relatively broad, yet very elegant and stylish. The fine craftsmanship is evident in the sharp, wide purfling, the deep fluting, and the striking scroll that exudes a certain self-assurance. The tonewoods used are also beautiful, along with the tasteful deep-reddish-brown varnisg, which displays a lovely patina in various areas. The violin was previously tuned by Otto Stam, whose original bridge is still present. Acoustically, the instrument is also remarkable, with its bright, sweet tone that combines clarity with brilliance and resonance.
