This violin was built by the amateur builder Leendert van der Heijden in 2005. The lacquer of the violin is a beautiful deep red and the wood used is of good quality; very finely flamed maple for the back and finely grained spruce for the top. The violin has a characterful appearance and is well built. The curvature of the blade is relatively high. The sound of the violin is particularly good; a clear, powerful, balanced sound, many times better than simple studio violins in this price range. Very suitable for someone who is looking for an excellent sound and violin full of character (sound clip below).
