This violin from Mittenwald (Bavaria) was built by hand in 1953. The typical characteristics of violin making from Mittenwald are beautifully reflected in this violin. The finely carved scroll, the mild flamed maple from the Karwendel (Alps) and the attractive red-brown oil lacquer that shows very light craquelure. The violin is slightly smaller than the usual 4/4 violin size and is therefore very suitable for a violinist with a relatively small hand. The violin has a clear, mature and open sound (sound clip below).
